Lamborghini Egoista Concept Car
This Lamborghini Egoista Concept Car reminds me of something Batman would drive. Seriously, this car is insane. It was introduced as a concept car in 2013, but sadly never made it to production. The Lamborghini Egoista Concept Car was produced to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Lamborghini, and they built the concept car around the frame and body of the popular Gallardo. The car you see in these photos is fully functioning, and features a 5.2 Liter, 317 cubic inch V10 engine that makes 600 horsepower.
The Lamborghini Egoista Concept Car is very unique inside, as it has a one seat cockpit. This is the ultimate drivers car, as there is only one seat, and no place for luggage. The interior is more similar to a fighter jet cockpit rather than a car interior. The car doesn’t have actual doors, it simply has a canopy over the top that is completely removable and is tinted orange. The steering wheel is detachable, and must be removed before entering and exiting the vehicle. This is similar to race cars, but no other street car that I am aware of has had that feature. The car looks to me like a Hot Wheels more than a real car!
The exterior of the car is also unique in that it is meant to look like a bull that is charging when looked at from the side. The car has sidemarkers and indicator lights on the side, top, front, and rear just like an airplane. The body panels are active aerodynamic panels that raise and lower based on speed and angle for perfect downforce and stability.
Both the body and the wheels are made of anti-radar material. This is what makes it look even more like a fighter jet. This is also why the gray color is the only color they were able to make.
As I mentioned, this car has only one seat, which is where the name was derived. Egoista in Italian literally means “selfish”, which is fitting for a car with only one seat. The one car that was ever made is now in the Lamborghini museum. If you like this concept car, check out one of my other concept cars.
